Crazy, the Giants have to be the world's luckiest team and they always eek out these wins in the 4th. I mean the 3 fumbles that they recovered. Welker dropping a pass he should never drop. The dude from the 9ers fumbling two punt returns, blocking that kick by Dallas, the fumble that wasn't called against the Cards. Just bizarre when you think about how close they were to not even making the playoffs.
That said Eli and his rcvrs are great and Coughlin is going to the Hall.

Yeah, we beat the Giants pretty easily this year. Unbelievable that they won instead of GB or San Fran. There are probably 4 NFC teams that would have also crushed the Pats though. But Lee you said yourself Defense is important and the Pats have a shitty fucking defense. I think the only reason you predicted them to win is because you love Brady.
funeralthirst7: Giants over San Francisco. Patriots over Baltimore. Giants over Patriots.

No great surprise, I even put money on NYG. I'm surprised we even made it this far with the lack of talent at so many positions. This season is a credit to BB's coaching ability, but a discredit to his GM/personnel abilities for being stuck with so many below-average, undrafted type guys on defense. Losing Gronk really crippled the offense (let's not pretend he was any more effective than your typical blocking TE), leaving us with only a good TE in Hernandez, and a great slot receiver. The lack of a true #1 WR really showed, as well as the lack of a WR who can reach the top shelf.
The defense played about as well as that roster can reasonably be expected to perform, but their inability to get the Giants off the field limited our possessions and left us in terrible field position every drive, which is especially harmful for a dink-and-dunk, ball control team to have to go 90 yards every drive. In the end, players need to make plays. Welker couldn't catch his tough ball, and Manningham did. When we needed to keep the Giants from going 50 yards on that final drive we let them get it in two plays. The Giants are that charmed team lately that plays well, limits mistakes, and gets bounces to go their way, like NE was ten years ago.
Oh well, maybe we'll actually use our two first round picks this year and to get a deep threat, a young DT/DE, and bring in a few more CBs to try out.
The worst thing is now I'm punished with six months of baseball. UGH.

They only gave up 2 touchdowns (one they let them score) and 2 FGs. The D wasn't that bad. They just couldn't get the breaks on the 2 fumbles.
Brady is still the bomb.
Giants win me some cash once again. Though I'm kicking myself for not putting more than 50..

Brady is awesome. He's getting older, though. They are going to have to rebuild their offense soon.
The defense sucks, though. 31st in passing yards and 17th in rushing yards. The Giants played it safe and scored the amount of points they needed to get away with a win. That makes 3 in a row for the NFC. Not to mention your Cards played the Steelers a hell of a lot tighter than any losing AFC team in the past 3 superbowls. NFC championship is becoming the best game of the season.

What surprised me and I never thought about it but the Giants were the first NFC team in the last 10 years to repeat in a Super Bowl (go to it). NFC these last 12 years is always wide open.
That game is still painful (Holmes was out of bounds) so don't bring it up.........:)

If it's any consolation, I was rooting for the Cards. It was a good game for me... I had just moved back from Germany and it was the first time I watched American football in a long time.
You know one thing I forget to mention. I kind of thought that safety call was bullshit. To me that is no different then when a QB throws it out of bounds when nobody is open, plus who knows if some one was running a post and broke off the route. It was open to interpolation for sure but typically grounding is when someone has you wrapped up and you throw it one foot in front of you, not 50 yards down field.
Holmes was in-bounds on that TD catch. Harrison, however, was tackled at the 1 yd line on that INT return at the end of the half. Same result, free points for Pittsburgh.
Damn, Lee. I never knew you were a football star back in the day!!
You people seriously have some strange fetishes. I barely even post on here anymore.
