whats gonna suck/rock/happen in 2008, trends/bands etc.

jesus will not rise again

the new children of bodom will be worse than the last one (and thats saying something)

all emos will finally commit suicide and rid the world of their sorry existence

doom will continue its solid rebirth

metalcore will continue to be the most watered down piece of shit subgenre in all of metal

It will be a better year for power metal than the last

We won't see a US release of Simple Mind Condition, at least through Escapi

Assassins from Nachtmystium will rule

Mastodon will release a more progressive and melancholy record than Blood Mountain, and Wino will make a guest appearance

It will be a relatively quiet year for death metal

The new Immortal album will kick much ass and make my Top 10

Barlow will record this next album with Iced Earth, sing at ProgPower and promptly leave the band for good

The new Beyond Fear will be one of the better power/heavy metal releases in '08

We Are The Nightmare will slay

Bodom will continue to be gay

Iced Earth will get a new singer

Hopefully nothing new from Winger

More ludicrous speeds from DragonForce

The best we've heard from Nevermore

Slipnot still hasn't broken up

New In Flames will likely suck

Maybe a new Crotchduster disc

Ghoatwhore, Arsis, Exodus

My own band will get signed

Don't you think it's about time?

We are The Frickin nightmare will rule all.......Hopefully Power metal will once again be my favorite genre to rip on. Metalcore bands from around the world will mysteriously lose their vocalists to AIDS, only to be replaced by actual pigs, thus invigorating the stale genre. Facial's band will get signed, only to get bumped from their label by my band Slipknot X. Crotchduster will not be able to top Mammal Sauce.......ever.

Thinkin' the new Testament ought to be good, and I'm hoping it is. I'm probably one of the few around here who is more of a fan of their newer, heavier 'Chuck imploring death growls' style, but now with Skolnick back it'll be interesting to see what they've come up with and what direction they take. Tough to put something out almost a decade after your last studio album, so we'll see.

I'm curious to see if Nevermore finds time to record some music. You've gotta think Loomis is just sitting off on his own writing a bunch of shit, and why not? Dane is off doing his solo album, which I'm also very curious to hear, so I'm sure a new and crushing Nevermore album in 2008 is not competely out of the question. Could be a big year for Warrel.

A new Immortal album would be the ultimate 2008 headliner for me. I've got to think after the success Abbath and co. had with the "I - Between Two Worlds" album (at least amongst the undergrounders) that he's got to be completely rejuvenated and ready to roll. Let's hope so.

Nevermore will finally release that DVD they were supposed to release last year yet continue to not update their site.

Schaffer will continue to eat the foot he put in his mouth a few years ago and eventually stop long enough to say, "it actually doesn't taste so bad!".

We Are The Nightmare will destroy, as previously stated.

Machine Head alter their sound yet again, change their name to Vio-Lence, and beg to tour with Municipal Waste.

Despite Barlow's re-involvement, Iced Earth will continue their period of mediocrity.

2007 was amply fortified, but 2008 will truly be a doom-dominated year.

In Flames will finally correct their guitar tone, but not their recent penchant for sucking.

The new Metallica album (if it sees daylight) will not suck.

I really hope Immortal can live up to their impressive legacy with this one.

ObZen will easily be the best album of the year.

Nearly all Metalcore bands will become 'Thrashcore'.

Chinese Democracy will remain a figment of Axl's imagination.

I hope you're right about this one, but I'm not holding my breath.

I can't help but feel an eencie weencie bit of curiosity for the new Metallica album. With Rick Rubin behind the whole thing, it should be interesting.

The two demos I heard were not garbage of the St. Anger variety, but still garbage nontheless.

My hopes are high but I'm almost certain we'll all be let down.

I predict that I'll spend way too much money on CDs and concerts this year.  I'm so happy that I only have to pay for rent, and other living costs and my parents cover my tuition.  I'd be dirt poor and miss out on a lot of stuff otherwise.
